The first movie was shot. It tested a new device and format called original cylinder Kinetograph. Here is what Kinetoscope used to look like.
1891
The first public show of motion pictures was made. The movie was shot in May the same year at Edison’s labs (affiliated to the famous inventor Thomas Edison). Audience saw the filmmaker passing his hat in front of him, and then reaching for it with his other hand.
